MINIMIST Moment
When I started to talk to MINIMIST bride, Jillian, about what could be special about her film, I pitched her an idea I had. I had been wanting to make this for a while and her, Travis, and their venue seemed perfect for it. She was totally game. The result is what I call a #minimistmoment.
This is a composite of a portrait I took of them, and an overlaid timelapse of all of their guests drawing in the air with sparklers that night.
It was like getting to make a living portrait that is drawn by their family and friends. Check out the final MINIMIST moment along with a little behind the scenes look at what the compositing process looked like.
The Removal Process
With a background in high end retouching, I am no stranger to removal from photo. In the last few years, I have been able to take those skills and apply them to video. Most times I can accomplish basic removal through simple masking, but other times it requires a little extra skill. Through retouching, planar tracking software, and compositing, I am able to remove my team (or gear) from video. Sometimes even in moving shots.
